What is the Daptly Display?

The Daptly Display is an AI assistant for your home that you can interact with by talking or using hand gestures. It helps you be informed about your day, stay connected to the people that matter, and take control of the devices in your home.

Why aren't you on Kickstarter?

Because Kickstarter isn't like a store. We want you to retain all of your rights as a consumer, and we don't think it's right to charge you for our display before we're ready to ship it to you.

What is the difference between the picture frame and the mirror?

They run the same software. The picture frame displays a chosen photo when you’re not using it; the mirror simply acts as a regular mirror.

Do you ship to my country?

We're currently planning on shipping to the following countries: United States, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom.

What is included with my purchase?

The Daptly Display, the power adapter, and a hanging kit.

Can I get a different color frame for my Daptly display?

We currently only offer the frame in matte black, but are planning to add more options in the near future.

Is there a volume pricing structure?

Referral Program

How does the referral program work?

After you purchase your preorder, we'll send you an email with a unique referral code URL. Whenever someone clicks your link and purchases a pre-order, you get $50 off your final purchase price. Refer enough friends and your display could be free!

How will I know if one of my referrals has purchased a pre-order?

We'll email you whenever you earn $50 off your order.

When will I receive the discount?

Your discount will be applied to your final purchase price. So if you refer 5 friends, you'll save $250.

Privacy

When is the microphone enabled?

Our products use on-device keyword spotting to listen for the wake word. If the wake word is not detected, recordings are not saved, transmitted, or kept in existence any longer. After hearing the wake word, the microphone will then stream audio to the cloud for analysis.

When is the camera enabled?

The camera is enabled after the wake word is spoken. By default, the camera feed (both depth and RGB) is not transmitted over wifi to our servers or anywhere else, is not saved or stored locally, and is not shared with anyone. All of our gesture and facial recognition is performed locally on the device via the streaming feed. To override the default rule and grant an application (like video chat) an exception to this rule, an account administrator may visit Profile > Privacy > Permissions on our mobile app or website. In these circumstances, the LED camera indicator will turn on, as well as the LED data transfer indicator. If you visit Device > Logs in your mobile application, you can see detailed statistics about what times the camera was activated, why it was activated, as well as a summary of any data that was transferred.

How do you protect my data?

Securing your data is our top priority. Since our early beginnings, we’ve built our architecture to employ the latest best practices in security. We use AES 256-bit symmetric-key encryption, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), HTTPS using TLS/SSL, and other important measures.

Purchases

How much does your display cost?

We're currently discounting the display for our early adopters. For $649, you get your display (either the picture frame or mirror option), hanging kit, power cord, and free shipping.

When will I be charged the complete amount?

You will be charged the complete amount when we are ready to ship the product to your home. We'll give plenty of notice and you'll have a chance to update your shipping information.

Do you store my credit card information?

No. We do not store any credit card information on our servers, or anywhere else. When we're ready to ship your product, you'll be required to reenter your payment information to authorize the final purchase.

Can I cancel my preorder?

Yes, you can cancel your preorder anytime before your unit ships by using the link in your email receipt or by emailing support@daptly.com. You'll be refunded the full amount of your deposit.

What kind of warranty is included?

A one year manufacturer's warranty is included. For more information, please see our official terms and conditions and return policy.

When can I expect to receive my order?

We're planning on shipping our first units in December 2017.
